Birmingham Gaming Market May 2026

So we did it..again! We get up at 5am. Load up the van. Grab a McDonald's breakfast, two super strong coffees plus a third en-route cause i'm a caffeine junkie! ;-) and away we gooooooo!

6am...I'm yawning, checking I don't have ketchup on my chin and getting nervous. We have a truck full of stock rattling about and the whole time wondering what the turn out will be.

So we arrive at The New Bingley Hall in Birmingham at 7:45am! bang on time for signing in and loading up. I'm hyped. There are more cars coming in. Our competition.... but I look to the back, see my Castlevania IV SNES fully Boxed with manual in super condition, and I know, our stock rocks! It's looked after, cleaned, well presented and now i'm excited.

Game Genie's stall is well placed just a few feet from the entrance. Patrons will get a good view of us on their way in and that is a big plus! First impressions count so we need to look good. We start setting up the stands, hanging up the plushies and unloading all our treasures into place. It's looking sweeeeet!!

We take a look around at the stalls, trying desperately not to buy anything !! Yeh, like that's going to happen at an event like this !!

Time is ticking, I need a forth coffee! LOL.

11am the ticket holders start coming in, and in, and in, and suddenly....our stall is swarmed ...yep! We did good. It was a complete success. We sold the Castlevania! Which I was both chuffed about and sad at the same time, as I secretly wanted to steal it for myself!!! The SNES and Mega Drive games were flying off the shelves. We also sold our StarWing SNES Boxed Console which was an absolute steal as the box and inserts were in great condition! Only a handful of Gameboy Games this time. Though I think the limelight was stolen by our Dreamcast collection. Wink, wink ;-) We really packed in some treats this time!

So after a long, fast coffee fuelled day, we managed to make a lot of sales. We met a lot of new people, new friends, bought a GameBoy Color Pocket in Pink 'cause i've got to play Bubble Bobble on something right and had some great conversations! Can't wait for our next show at the Bristol Gaming Market. We will be updating our stock so keep an eye out Browse Retro Stock and keep playing those Retro games!!!!!!

For those of you that are reading this, thank you very much for joining us on our journey and be sure to keep coming back to view our next blog update!
